Cayuga View farm
We are cow/calf operation in the heart of the finger lakes. We maintain a registered Angus herd that was established on this farm in 1965. We are a BQA certified herd that is involved with the New York Cattle Health Assurance Program (NYCHAP). Cattle health and environmental stewardship programs are our top priorities thus leaving the land and the lakes better than we found them. We farm around 150 acres and keep approximately 30 cows and their offspring. We raise all of the calves selling heifers for replacement stock and finish our steers on the farm. We strive to maintain a natural beef product. Our cattle are raised on pasture and hay. We finish our steers with a small percentage of grains. Visitors are always welcome.

What is HCW?
Hot carcas weight (HCW) is the weight taken immediately after slaughter, but before final trim. With beef for example, HCW is approximately 60% of live weight.
