Plumb Rocky Farm

A little about our farm and family. The farm has been in the family for over 50 years. It was originally an American Tree Farm, for wild life conservation, land restoration and a family get away. Following in the mind set of caring for the land and animals that lived here we now raise our family and animals in this healthy environment. Plumb Rocky Farm is a small diversified family farm. We raise Icelandic sheep, several breeds of dairy goats, heritage breed pigs and Jersey calves. We practice rotational grazing with all our animals, to provide better forage and improve our soil naturally. All our animals are raised on pasture for the spring, summer, and fall. In the winter, they enjoy hay and small amounts of grain from a local mill. They are frequently moved to fresh pasture. We strive to give the animals freedom to graze and play in a more natural environment. Rotational grazing helps to improve the soil health, productivity of the fields and allows the land to rest and grow. With a healthier environment, we are able to raise the animals with minimal to no use of chemicals and antibiotics and no pesticides or hormones. All the animals are treated humanely throughout their lives on the farm.

Rose Veal also known as meadow Veal, Grass Fed Veal, Red Veal, Pasture Veal.
We use an old-fashioned method of putting the caves out to pasture with their mothers. We don’t use any antibiotics, hormones, chemicals or steroids. Eating this veal is like getting fresh vegetables from the garden instead of the supermarket. Veal only becomes more flavorful if it is allowed to walk around and live in a stress-free environment. It is a more humane and natural method of raising veal. The tastiest veal is raised on the grass along with milk straight from the mother.
