Spot Hollow Farm
We raise Jacob sheep, a heritage breed that flourishes in a grassfed environment. They produce wonderful, lean lamb which is not as fatty as meat from many other breeds, without being gamey. Our lambs are raised on mother's milk and grass all year, in an as natural as possible state (no hormones, antibiotics, etc). We sell whole and half lambs, call or email for availability!
We also have a small supply of free-range eggs from our resident chicken flock - who free-range mostly in the sheep pasture.
$10/lb HCWWhole (or half) lamb 20-30 pounds (10-15lbs). Usually available in the fall, sometimes other times of year. Grassfed, all natural, pasture raised, no pesticides used on pasture land in more than 10 years.
What is HCW?
Hot carcas weight (HCW) is the weight taken immediately after slaughter, but before final trim. With beef for example, HCW is approximately 60% of live weight.
